Stoneground was a ten-piece group from Concord, California. Several members would leave and become yacht rock band Pablo Cruise. But, the real draw here is Sylvester. The Hot Band was Sylvester's rock act after he left the Cockettes (during their critically panned tour of New York) and before Harvey Fugua signs him to Fantasy (and hooks him up with Two Tons O' Fun as his backup singers.)
The Carousel Ballroom was originally a swing-era dance palace located at South Van Ness and Market Streets in San Francisco. Under Bill Graham, it was operated as the Fillmore West from 1968-71 (with the Grateful Dead playing more than 68 shows here). After 1971, it reverted back to the Carousel, eventually becoming a Honda Dealership.
