Bobby Taylor : WHY PLAY GAMES
Part of Hugh Hefner's Playboy Enterprises, Playboy Records had its most successful period between 1972 and 1975, with artists like Barbi Benton, Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds, and Mickey Gilley. Although primarily a pop/country label, the label made an occasional foray into soul (like this cut from Bobby Taylor).
Playboy Records folded in 1978, but it was relaunched 25 years later as the Playboy Jazz label, now a part of Concord Music Group.
