Chaka Khan : GOT TO BE THERE

GOT TO BE THERE was Michael Jackson's debut solo single, written by Elliot Willensky and released on October 7, 1971, for Motown Records. It has been covered numerous times.

The Miracles, also a Motown recording act, recorded the track for their final studio album, " Flying High Together, " in 1972.

In 1972, Black Ivory recorded a version on their debut album, "Don't Turn Around," which reached the top R&B 20. It was the B-side to their top 40 single TIME IS LOVE.

In 1982, Chaka Khan had a top five hit version with the song.

In 1993, George Benson performed the track with his guitar and vocal hums on his album, Love Remembers.

In 2007,  Boyz II Men covered it on their album Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA.
