Eddy Raven : JOE KNOWS HOW TO LIVE

Eddy Raven's JOE KNOWS HOW TO LIVE was released in May 1988. It is the second single from his compilation album The Best of Eddy Rave. The song was previously recorded by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on their 1987 album Hold On.

JOE KNOWS HOW TO LIVE is told from the point of view of a blue-collar worker who is envious of one of his co-workers, Joe. Joe's free-spirited ways are evidenced by Eddy's jealous singing, "Well, I hate to admit it, but Joe sure knows how to live."

After multiple albums that yielded few hit songs, Eddy's greatest commercial success came between 1984 and 1990, during which time he achieved six number-one singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. Eddy would end up having a total of eighteen top-ten hits on the chart. Although his chart success diminished in the 1990s, Raven continued to record throughout the 1990s and into the 21st Century.
